To achieve this, an API platform was deployed to ensure data exchange between Spryker PaaS, Infor LN, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Crossbase PIM. This integrated architecture makes it possible to efficiently map both complex pricing structures and individual customer requirements. Case Study: VKW Data Catalog
In the first phase of the project to evaluate a data catalog for illwerke VKW, we evaluated various data catalog tools and assessed them in a feature matrix. After presenting the results, illwerke VKW chose Open MetaData (OMD) for the PoC phase. We implemented OMD in Docker on a dedicated server and set up custom connectors for SAP and standard connectors for Oracle and MSSQL. In addition, we set up permissions and users and supported illwerke VKW with the initial implementation of information in the data catalog.
Open Metadata (OMD) is an open source platform for collecting, organizing, and managing metadata. It enables organizations to centrally capture information about their data sources, data flows, and data usage. OMD makes it possible to catalog data in different systems, such as databases, data lakes, and BI tools, creating transparency and clarity in the dataset. For illwerke VKW, OMD offers the advantage of a central data catalog that makes it easier to keep track of data sources, trace their origin, and better control the use of data.
