Work at TOWA

We are TOWA: Annika, Junior Digital Transformation Consulting

Amanda Vanselow

Talent Acquisition Consultant

Hi Annika, tell us first of all who you are, what you do at TOWA, and how you became aware of TOWA.

Hi! I am 23 years old, currently a Junior in the field of Digital Transformation Consulting, and I joined TOWA as an intern in März 2025. I already applied in November 2024, after I specifically searched for agencies that really deal with transformation and don't just write "Digital" on it.

TOWA was immediately my first choice: the website, the consulting approach, and especially Anna-Maria's testimonial convinced me right away. After a very quick and uncomplicated application process, everything moved fast: I completed my bachelor's and went straight into practical work.

When did your passion for digital transformation begin, and how did you come to it?

My passion for digital transformation developed already during my studies. I studied information management and corporate communication – a mix of communication, design, business administration, and IT. This combination of creative, technical, and strategic topics has paved the way for me.

I found the shift from the classic B2C perspective to the B2B environment particularly exciting. I deliberately wanted to immerse myself in the consultant perspective to approach B2B topics from a certain distance. The agency environment was therefore ideal for me: a steep learning curve, changing projects, and different industries. That was exactly what I was looking for.

What does your typical workday at TOWA look like?

My day usually begins with a good coffee, and then I structure my day. I like to work in „Time Boxing“ phases to maintain my focus time throughout the day. In between, I am often in communication with my team, depending on the project phase and check-ins. The occasional Coffee Talk in between is also part of it.

At lunchtime, we often eat together in the office – across services, depending on who is there. I think that's great, because you also make connections outside your own team.

Our team also has a clear rhythm:

  • Mondays: Check in with capacity planning

  • On Wednesdays: Team meeting

  • In between: spontaneous exchanges, short coffee conversations, quick check-ins. Very dynamic, but always appreciative.

Which projects are you currently working on?

I work on several projects in parallel, and that makes the role really varied for me. That way, I gain insights into many industries and areas of responsibility.

My everyday tasks include preparing presentations, developing concepts, and also personally getting involved in implementation. In addition, various ad-hoc support tasks can vary greatly depending on the project. Working with many different teams gives me a variety of insights and makes my work not only varied but also very instructive professionally.

In addition, further projects were added during my internship, so variety was definitely guaranteed!

Do you work more from home or in the office?

I mainly work from home because I'm much more focused there. At the same time, I'm in the office twice a week, simply to have personal interaction with the team.

The mix is ideal for me!

How does working at TOWA differ from your previous employers?

Honestly: very.

Particularly formative for me are the great trust and the lived freedom. At the beginning I was curious what everyday work life, especially collaboration with clients, would look like. In practice, however, it quickly became clear: At TOWA you get:

  • Flat hierarchies,

  • appreciative communication,

  • Ideas from entry-level employees are taken seriously.,

  • and „Hands-on-Mentality“ is actively promoted.

TOWA positively surprised me in the best sense!

What did you particularly like about your internship?

Very much!

I learned the most from the fact that I was proverbially „thrown into the cold water“ – exactly that accelerated my learning curve enormously.

Early on, I was able to be present at the first customer appointments on-site. At the same time, I witnessed the growth of our transformation team from March to December. It was particularly impressive to see how processes, people, and structures developed over the course of that time.

And the team itself is truly great: we support each other, celebrate shared successes, and grow together through our daily tasks.

Are there any specific challenges in your role with us?

Yes – but in a positive sense.

The dynamics of an agency demand a lot of self-reliance. You have to partially figure out project workflows yourself and understand them quickly. But that's exactly what also allowed me to grow significantly.
I have been given a lot of trust and responsibility, and that has propelled me forward enormously.

Do you feel that working at TOWA has helped you to grow and develop further?

100 %, yes.

I have found the ideal environment here for my start: variety, responsibility, and support. Looking back, I developed enormously between March and December. The trust placed in me and the responsibility I took on early have advanced me greatly both professionally and personally.

I learn something new every day professionally, organizationally, and personally, and feel truly seen and supported in my development.

Which highlight at TOWA stuck with you the most?

A real highlight at TOWA for me is the ongoing development that you actively experience here. Especially at the beginning, the interactive collaboration with clients was something very special; it quickly became clear to me how much trust was placed in me, even as an intern.

At least as important to me is the team spirit: helpfulness, solidarity, and growing together naturally go without saying here. This atmosphere has accompanied me from the very beginning and is one of the reasons why I feel so comfortable at TOWA.

Now, a question for everyone who is considering becoming part of TOWA: What advice would you give them?

Bring a hands-on mentality, Team orientation, and genuine interest.
Be open, be eager to create something, even with smaller tasks.
And: Just be yourself!

If you want to make a difference, you're in the right place.
