💪 The challenge

The main challenge of the project was to transfer the CRM, ERP and Service Desk data from several legacy systems into the Salesforce world. Two different ticket systems, Topdesk and Visionproject, had to be taken into account. In addition, an ERP system, IFS, and two CRM systems, SugarCRM and IFS-CRM, needed to be integrated.

In addition to the initial consolidation, the systems had to be kept in sync during operation. The heterogeneity of the system landscape was a particular challenge. By working closely with the customer on site, we were able to define efficient workflows and implement customized solutions.

Subsequently, we are available to our customer as a contact for all further questions and provide proactive support in the further development of the system landscape. In addition to comprehensive quality control, we continuously implement additional system requirements in close coordination with the customer. In this way, Bachmann continuously benefits from improvements and new interfaces through the iterative approach. We place particular value on long-term cooperation, as this enables us to provide our customers with optimum support from the initial consultation through to quality assurance.

✨ The result

With the help of Talend, the original data jungle was quickly cleared, and all systems were fed into Salesforce in less than six weeks. Bachmann employees can now quickly and easily access all information from the systems in Salesforce from a single source in near real-time. Data redundancy is reduced, data transparency is increased, and search speed is improved.

Thanks to the rapid implementation with our partner Talend, we were able to see results in just a few weeks. Our incremental approach allowed us to quickly identify problem areas and collaborate on solutions. As a result, we were able to fully integrate existing systems without requiring employees to adapt to a new system. Well-structured workflows make it possible to integrate data in the operational area without compromising on timeliness and performance.

Project Flow

During the kick-off meeting with the customer, the existing infrastructure and systems were reviewed to gain a better understanding of the situation. After a technology-agnostic initial phase, Talend was identified as the tool of choice. Talend offers a wide range of connectors to various ERP and database systems, as well as a sophisticated Salesforce toolbox. With the information gained from the first phase of the project, the data was cleaned up step by step and imported into the new system.

A particular challenge was the CPQ part, which required data to be written to the ERP and transferred back from the ERP to Salesforce. This was implemented in the second phase of the project. To do this, a workflow was triggered as soon as changes were made in Salesforce, which reconciled the necessary information and updated it in the respective systems.
