We are TOWA: Anna-Maria, Intern Digital Transformation Consulting

Hey Anna-Maria, tell us first of all who you are, what you do at TOWA, and how you became aware of TOWA.

I am Anna-Maria, 26 years old and I've just started in September at TOWA as an Intern in Digital Transformation Consulting.

How did you become aware of TOWA are? 

Actually by chance – or shall we call it fate! (laughs)
At the end of my master's degree I was looking for an internship abroad in consulting and digitalization. That's when I stumbled upon the job posting. The website, the modern team and the dynamic spirit immediately thrilled me. Applied quickly, worked on the case, got an offer – zack, off we went! 

When did your passion for digital transformation begin, and how did you come to it? 

My passion for digital transformation began already during my bachelor's, when I engaged intensively with entrepreneurship and innovation.

After an internship at an innovation consultancy, it became clear to me how important digitalization is, whether at startups or established companies. I also became aware of this in my father's family business, by the way — there you can see firsthand how much potential lies in digital transformation. 

What does your typical workday at TOWA look like? 

First thing in the morning check emails and the to-do list, then it’s straight into client meetings, preparing presentations, developing strategies.

At the beginning I spent a lot of time working on internal projects to get into the topics, such as a whitepaper. Now I work almost exclusively on client projects – from developing interview guides to optimizing marketing strategies. No day is the same, and that makes it really exciting! 

Which projects are you currently working on? 

I am currently working on an exciting project for one of our customers. The goal is to strengthen their sales with a clear focus on their Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and to improve their marketing and sales strategies. 

Do you work more from home or in the office? 

That's always quite different. I like being in the office for exchanging with colleagues, but I must also say that I also work a lot from the home office.

Variety makes it! 

How does working at TOWA differ compared to your previous employers? 

Clearly: The freedoms and the trust.

Here I am not seen as an "intern", but as a full-fledged member of the team – even by the clients! The flat hierarchy and the skill-sharing within the team are real highlights. 

What do you particularly like about your internship? 

Definitely the team!

Everyone is super nice, you're given a lot of trust up front, which of course is a boost to motivation.
As I already said in the previous question, I am not treated as an "intern", but as a full-fledged team member.
Additionally, we have regular exchange in the team and feedback- rounds every 2-3 weeks, where one can freely communicate wishes or comments.

Are there any specific challenges in your role with us? 

Sure, being thrown in at the deep end is part of it. Having to get up to speed on new projects and topics in a very short time is sometimes challenging – but you also learn an incredible amount from it! 

Do you feel that working at TOWA has helped you grow and further develop? 

YES!

In my 2.5 months I have acquired so much expertise and become familiar with many new tools.
Both content-wise, how one presents and behaves in front of clients, project management, but also how one organizes oneself well in a rather fast-paced company.

Which highlight at TOWA has particularly stuck in your head? 

Definitely our Transformation Day in Munich!

Together we analyzed what works and what doesn't, and in the process defined new rituals. On top: finally being able to experience the whole team on site, since we usually work remotely across different locations.
