We are TOWA: Adam, Senior Data Analyst/Developer

Hey Adam, first tell us who you are, what you do at TOWA, and how you became aware of TOWA.

I am a Senior Data Analyst/Developer, have been at TOWA for a year now and make sure that data streams run smoothly.
My focus is on the development of ETL pipelines and the automation of processes – often via REST APIs. In doing so I combine technical precision with creativity to seamlessly connect complex systems.

How did you become aware of TOWA? 

Via LinkedIn! The job posting immediately caught my eye, and I was immediately curious to learn more about the company. 

When did your passion for data begin, and how did you get into it? 

My passion for Data Analytics started a little more than eight years ago. It was that mixture of numbers, logic and technology that immediately fascinated me. Data have a story to tell, and I wanted to learn to "translate" it.

What does your typical workday at TOWA look like? 

The start of the day begins with a daily stand-up meeting, in which we coordinate as a team. After that I dive into my work on Python notebooks – here data is analyzed, transformed and modeled. Meetings with colleagues to coordinate projects are also a fixed part of my day, to ensure that we are all on the same wavelength.

What projects are you currently working on? 

On the one hand, I assist in a client project for a listener and donor database. On the other hand, I work on automation projects that make internal processes more efficient. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities!

Do you work more from home or in the office? 

Home office is my personal favorite – above all, because my dog is always by my side. The flexibility to decide for myself where I work makes the job all the more pleasant.

How does working at TOWA differ compared to your previous employers and what do you particularly like about your job? 

The goats and wild boars in the yard at the Vienna location! (laughs)

But seriously: the atmosphere at TOWA is unique. There is a freedom in development that allows me to be creative and efficient. On top of that are exciting challenges in data architecture that challenge and encourage me every day. 

Are there any specific challenges in your role with us? 

Unstructured or less organized data. Translating them into meaningful information requires not only technical know-how but also a certain intuition — like a detective in the world of data. 

Do you feel that working at TOWA has helped you grow and develop further? 

Absolutely!

I deepened my Python knowledge, gained extensive experience with REST APIs, and thereby developed both technically and personally.

Which highlight at TOWA stuck with you the most? 

The educational opportunities in the Low Season!
